Rob Ross – Tuba

Rob Ross

Rob Ross is a freelance tubist in the Washington, D.C. area. For 30 years he served as Principal Tuba with the Prince Georges Philharmonic and for the past 19 years he has served as Principal Tuba with the National Concert Band of America (NCBA). Rob has performed with the Fairfax Symphony, Alexandria Symphony, Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association, and several others.

Rob attended the University of Maryland College Park where he studied Music Education and Music Performance and was a student of Michael Bunn of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra. Rob has also studied with Mike Wagner of the Pershing’s Own and David Fedderly of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Rob joined the Maryland Winds as a substitute tuba in November 2019 and happily accepted a position as a core member in 2026.
