Chance Caprarola – Percussion

Chance Caprarola is a percussionist, educator, and composer originally from Westminster, Maryland. He received his Bachelors of Music Education degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he was also awarded the Performer’s Certificate. He is currently the band director at Governor Thomas Johnson Middle School in Frederick, Maryland where he teaches band and orchestra.

While at Indiana, Chance performed and premiered numerous works with the Wind Ensemble and the Philharmonic Orchestra. This included serving as principal percussionist on the world premier of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, an opera commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera. In addition to this, Chance has appeared with the Carmel Symphony Orchestra (IN), and continues to perform professionally in the Pennsylvania and Maryland areas.

In his free time, Chance enjoys reading, biking, serving at his church, and spending time with his wife, Sarah.
