Heidi Sturniolo – Harp

Heidi Sturniolo

Heidi Sturniolo is a graduate of The Cleveland Institute of Music where she earned her Master of Music in Harp Performance. She also holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Michigan School of Music.

She has appeared as a soloist with the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra, the Manassas Symphony, and the University of Michigan Symphony Orchestra featuring concerti by Ginastera, Rodrigo, and Mozart. In October 2018, she will be performing Tailleferre’s Concertino for Harp and Orchestra with the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic. She has performed with professional ensembles including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Grand Rapids (MI) Symphony, the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic, the Prince George’s Philharmonic, and the Columbia Orchestra. Ms. Sturniolo also performs in many recital series in both Michigan and Maryland, and was the former guest recitalist for the West Michigan Chapter of the American Harp Society.

In addition to performing, Ms. Sturniolo maintains a private harp studio and teaches harp at the Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, MD. She is also a regular contributing writer for Harp Column magazine, an international publication for harpists. Her former teachers include Alice Chalifoux, Lynne Aspnes and Yolanda Kondonassis.

Ms. Sturniolo is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and currently resides in the D.C. - Baltimore area with her husband and children.
