Catherine Lindquist – Bassoon

Catherine Lindquist has joined the Maryland Winds as principal bassoon. She has performed with the Annapolis Symphony, the National Philharmonic, the Houston and Jacksonville Symphonies, and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Catherine has participated in numerous summer festivals including the Spoleto Festival Orchestra, the Verbier Festival Orchestra, and the Saratoga Chamber Music Festival.

Upon graduation from the Curtis Institute of Music, Catherine earned her master’s degree from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music. Her major teachers include Mr. Bernard Garfield and Mr. Benjamin Kamins.

From 2006-2008, Catherine served on the faculty of Shenandoah Conservatory and performed with the Van Buren Woodwind Quintet and the Shenandoah Festival Orchestra. She maintains a private lesson studio focusing on audition and performance preparation, reed making, and bassoon repertoire.
